Operating within the IT Sourcing function, the role ensures that sourcing decisions optimise value-for-money, align with organisational strategy, and effectively manage commercial and delivery risks.The position partners with senior stakeholders, procurement specialists, and category experts to design sourcing approaches that consider market dynamics, risk profiles, and future flexibility. You will apply advanced critical thinking and commercial acumen to resolve complex issues in a broader business context, embed sustainable solutions, and maximise value and return on investment through sound financial and procurement decisions.To access the Position Description, please click herePosition accountabilitiesStrategic Procurement Leadership Design and implement innovative sourcing strategies for high-value and complex ICT procurements. Provide expert advice to executives on sourcing models, market conditions, and risk management options. Lead the evaluation of sourcing approaches (e.g., panel, direct negotiation, outcome-based contracts, SaaS models).Complex Procurement Delivery Lead end-to-end management of complex or sensitive procurement processes, ensuring probity,transparency, and compliance with government policy. Manage and oversee tender documentation, evaluation, negotiation, and recommendation forcontract award. Drive outcomes that balance cost, quality, delivery risk, and long-term value.Market and Category Insights Maintain deep knowledge of ICT supplier markets, category trends, and pricing models. Build relationships with key suppliers to inform sourcing strategies and anticipate market changes. Provide insight and analysis to inform future sourcing pipelines and enterprise investment decisions.Stakeholder and Capability Uplift Partner with engagement, portfolio, and architecture teams to align sourcing with business needs and technology strategy. Provide coaching and guidance to procurement specialists on best-practice sourcing and negotiation. Represent the sourcing function in executive forums and cross-functional working groups.Technical capabilities- Category Management (Leading) Shapes government-wide category management policies and strategies, ensuring procurement categories are optimised for efficiency, cost savings, and risk mitigation. Procurement Policy and Context (Accomplished) Leads procurement policy application, advises on compliance and risk management, and applies contract law expertise to complex procurement decisions.Ensures governance and regulatory requirements align with procurement strategies, including assessing and approving policy exemptions.
