Full-Time | NSW or VIC based | Civil Construction & Intelligent Transport SystemsJoin a growing team committed to safety, innovation, and delivering critical infrastructure across NSW.We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Junior Safety Officer to support our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and construction projects, ensuring a safe, compliant, and positive work environment for all workers, contractors, and stakeholders.About the RoleAs the Junior Safety Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of our Safety Management System across multiple projects. You will reporting directly to Yunex Country QEHS Manager and supportingNSW project managers, site supervisors, and field staff to ensure risks are well controlled and safety culture is strong and consistent across all operations.You will assist with safety documentation, field inspections, incident investigations, toolbox talks, inductions, and monitoring compliance with NSW WHS legislation and client requirements (including TfNSW standards for ITS works).Key ResponsibilitiesSupport day-to-day WHS activities across ITS and construction sites.Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.Maintain safety documentation, SWMS, permits, and registers.Support contractor management and compliance verification.Promote a proactive safety culture aligned with company values.Ensure adherence to WHS Act & Regulations, Codes of Practice, and project-specific safety requirements.Liaise with project teams to provide practical safety advice and support.About YouWe are looking for a motivated safety professional who enjoys being in the field and collaborating with diverse teams.Essential Criteria:Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum).Previous experience in construction, civil, or ITS projects.Strong understanding of NSW WHS legislation.Ability to build rapport with field teams and influence safe behaviors.Good communication and documentation skills.Able to Multi-taskFull driver license and ability to travel to multiple sites both locally and inter-state.Desirable:1-2 years experience working on TfNSW, ITS, civil construction, telecommunications, or road infrastructure projects.First Aid, White Card certifications (MUST, Traffic Control knowledge (not essential)Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and quality systems.What We OfferCompetitive salary package based on experienceLong-term project pipeline across NSWSupportive team culture with strong safety valuesProfessional development and career progression opportunitiesA workplace where safety is owned by everyone "One Team, Same Dream"Yunex Traffic is a proud equal opportunity employer, creating a work environment of diversity and inclusion.
