Footprint: Australia, Asia, United States Services: International air & ocean freight forwarding Location: Melbourne, Australia Role Overview The COO is responsible for driving both the commercial performance and operational execution of the freight forwarding segment of the business across all regions. Working closely with the CEO, this role blends ownership of day-to-day operations with leadership of sales effectiveness, margin growth, and geographic expansion. The successful candidate will be a commercially minded operator with deep freight forwarding experience, capable of scaling the business through organic growth, new market entry, and M&A. Key Responsibilities Own global commercial performance including revenue growth, yield, and customer profitability. Partner with regional leaders to build and execute sales strategies across air and ocean freight. Drive key account growth, pricing discipline, and carrier/vendor leverage. Support and strengthen sales leadership, structure, incentives, and pipeline management. Expansion & M&A Lead operational and commercial input into new country expansion strategies. Evaluate, execute, and integrate acquisitions and partnerships. Ensure rapid commercial and operational ramp-up of new offices and acquired businesses. Operational Performance Ensure consistent, scalable operating models that support growth and service quality. Drive margin improvement through productivity, cost control, and process optimisation. Maintain compliance, risk management, and service standards across all regions. Leadership Lead and develop regional operations and commercial teams. Align global teams around growth objectives, accountability, and performance metrics. Act as a key change leader as the business scales. Experience Profile Senior leadership experience in international air & ocean freight forwarding. Proven track record driving sales growth and margin improvement in a multi-country environment. Direct experience with new market entry and/or M&A integration strongly preferred. Strong commercial instincts combined with operational credibility.
