Important state-wide mental health service Key leadership position About the organisation Forensicare is the state-wide specialist provider of forensic mental health services across Victoria. As the only agency in the state that provides clinical forensic mental health services tailored to, and spanning all components of, the mental health and criminal justice sectors, Forensicare has a unique perspective on mental health and public safety issues. With a primary focus on delivering clinical services within a recovery framework, Forensicares services include the effective assessment, treatment and management of forensic patients, prisoners and clients. Forensicares Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) provides a range of consultation and direct services for those in contact, or at risk of coming into contact, with the justice system as well as providing specialist assessment and treatment for people with a range of serious problem behaviours. About the role Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director Community Operations provides strategic and operational leadership of CFMHS. The role ensures service delivery aligns with Forensicare''s strategic priorities and Model of Care, with accountability for operational excellence, service readiness, and sustainable performance across community programs. This includes championing integrated, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care while providing governance, compliance, and risk oversight across clinical, operational and financial domains. A key priority for the appointee will be ensuring the success of the next phase of roll out of the statewide expansion of services, which has been funded by the Victorian Government as a key recommendation of the Victorian Royal Commission into Victorias Mental Health System. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the position contributes to shaping organisational culture, developing strategy, and driving initiatives that enhance consumer outcomes and workforce capability. Critical to success will be effectively leading change, fostering an engaged and energised team, and ensuring a safety-for-all workplace for staff and consumers. About you You are a highly respected leader with clinical credentials from the mental health, healthcare or not-for-profit sectors. Pragmatic and a lateral thinker, you have a track record of designing service delivery improvements, drawing on your capability to engage and conceptualise at system level. Energetic, enthusiastic and outward focused, and with project and change leadership capabilities that drive results and outcomes, you inspire engaged, energised and collaborative teams.
