About the Opportunity This is a senior leadership role that has been newly created to support the growth of a complex property portfolio in the retail and commercial landscape. Reporting to the executive team, the Head of Finance acts as a divisional CFO and provides strategic financial leadership and commercial accountability, safeguarding asset performance and profitability. You will move beyond theory to create pragmatic, value-adding systems and processes that enable commercial goals. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to lead team development and drive process improvements across the finance and property functions. What You''ll Do Leading a medium sized team of direct and indirect reports, your position will oversee commercial finance and decision making, financial control and consolidations, system and process improvement whilst driving strategic partnering throughout. Your regular responsibilities will include: Providing strategic financial leadership and commercial accountability for a diverse property portfolio. Partnering with senior executives, external parties and property development teams in commercial negotiations and feasibility studies. Leading and mentoring the established Commercial Finance and Property Accounting teams to foster accountability and professional growth. Delivering strategies and actionable insights to maximise asset performance, returns, and profitability. Overseeing all consolidated accounting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and forecasting through the finance team. Managing the integrity of lease data, rental income, and outgoings recoveries for the portfolio. Reviewing advanced financial modelling and scenario analysis to support acquisitions and divestments. Driving process improvements, automation, and system optimisations, specifically within platforms including ERP, Consolidation and Reconciliation tools. What You''ll Bring We are looking for a commercial finance leader who thrives in a partnering, growth-oriented environment. You are CA/CPA qualified with 10-15+ years of experience in senior leadership roles, ideally with significant exposure to property or large CAPEX sectors, understanding full lifecycle of investment decisioning, through to WIP and Project Accounting. Your background should demonstrate a proven ability to deliver financial strategies that maximise asset performance, alongside experience in supporting acquisitions, divestments, and complex development projects. Beyond technical proficiency, you are a pragmatic, solutions-focused operator who can balance financial risk with commercial objectives. You possess deep expertise in commercial finance, forecasting, and consolidated reporting, with a confident attitude toward ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance. Your understanding of financial modelling allows you to translate data into actionable insights that support portfolio growth and investment decisions. As a leader, you have a track record of mentoring high-performing teams and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
