OverviewHospital Engineer (Mechanical) at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The closing date is 08 February 2026.The role is to support the Senior Engineers, in close cooperation with Building engineering and maintenance staff, with responsibility for the ongoing operation and maintenance of the Trust premises and assets. This includes liaising with the Trust Projects teams, ensuring statutory compliance and maintaining a suitable environment for patient care. Performance will be judged against quality, timeliness, cost/resource and health & safety management criteria agreed with the post-holder as part of the annual appraisal.The post covers areas of specialist work including HVAC, Water, Steam/Pressure systems, Medical Gases, Building Management Systems (BMS), and an element of Energy Management. The post holder will ensure that Trust premises and assets are installed, operated and maintained in accordance with Trust policies, DoH guidance (HTM/HBN) and industry best practice. Main duties of the jobYou will form part of a multidisciplinary team whose role is to provide the best possible service to the Trust. The Hospital Engineer will have both group and individual responsibilities for defined aspects of the service, ensuring alignment with the Estates and Facilities vision and the Trust''s overall objectives.
