As leader of our Environmental Services department, you will work closely with your staff and collaborate with other council departments to ensure efficient and effective delivery of biosecurity control, animal control, waste and cemetery management services to our LGA communities in line with council''s strategic plans while meeting regulatory compliance requirements. About You This role is for a skilled professional and people leader who has a passion for providing the highest quality service and asset delivery to achieve our organisational mission of being an adaptive, resilient and performing organisation to create a sustainable and desirable future for our communities. To be successful in this role, you will possess: Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline or 3 years experience in a similar role. Detailed knowledge and experience in waste management and environmental controls Detailed knowledge and experience in biosecurity management Detailed knowledge and experience in cemetery management and maintenance Detailed knowledge and experience in animal control Experience in leading and supervising a multi-disciplined team. Sound understanding of, and ability to interpret and apply, the Companion Animals Act, Protection of the Environment Operations Act, the Contaminated Land Management Act, Local Government Act, Impounding Act, Cemeteries and Crematoria Act, Biosecurity Act and regulations, Environmental Protection Authoritys environmental guidelines, as well as any supplementary acts and guidelines pertinent to the position. Ability to solve problems and independently lead numerous programs and projects. High level of computer literacy. High level written and verbal communication skills. Including experience preparing reports, correspondence and presentations on relevant matters within established timeframes and the ability to effectively communicate and resolve conflict with staff, stakeholders, government departments and members of the public. Current and maintained NSW Drivers Licence. Remuneration and Benefits The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023 and Cabonne Councils policies and conditions of employment. The role offers an attractive annual salary range of $104,723 to $161,637 ($4027.76 to $6216.77 gross per fortnight) plus 12 per cent superannuation.
