Position: Assistant Tax Manager (12-month secondment) Work type: Full Time - Fixed Term Location: Melbourne (Kulin Nation) Categories: Finance Job no: 508572 Apply: Refer a friend About the Role Responsibilities Were looking for a motivated and technically capable Assistant Tax Manager to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting the delivery of Tabcorps tax compliance and advisory activities. Reporting to the Tax Manager, this is a hands-on role that offers strong exposure to complex tax matters, senior stakeholder engagement, and opportunities to grow your technical and professional capability. Your key focus will be to ensure the Group meets its Australian and international tax obligations, while supporting the Head of Tax and Tax Manager with practical, commercially informed tax advice. More specifically, you will: Support end-to-end tax compliance and reporting across the Group, including income tax, GST, FBT, withholding tax, international tax obligations, and statutory disclosures Assist with tax governance, audits, and regulatory engagement, including preparing documentation, supporting tax authority reviews, and liaising with external auditors and advisers Contribute to tax advisory and technical work, assisting with advice on transactions, contracts, and business initiatives, and preparing technical papers to support tax positions Drive efficient and well-controlled tax processes, including managing day-to-day aspects of the R&D tax incentive program, maintaining tax systems and records, supporting process improvements, and providing technical input to the wider finance team About You This role is well suited to a tax professional who enjoys being close to the detail, values strong governance, and is looking to deepen their technical capability within a large, complex organisation. Youll be comfortable working across compliance and advisory matters, collaborating with stakeholders, and ready to hit the ground running.
