Home to Rod Laver Arena, John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena, AAMI Park, CENTREPIECE and the Australian Open, this is Melbourne''s world stage.ABOUT THE ROLEWe are seeking an experienced and highlycapable Venue Managerto lead theend to endperformance of one of Melbourne Park''s most significantandmulti purposevenues; John Cain Arena.Reporting to the Director of Venues, this senior leadership role is accountable for the operational, people,customerand commercial performance of John Cain Arena.The role plays a critical part in translating Melbourne Park''s organisational strategy into a clear venue strategy, while contributing venue insight to precinct wide planning, major event delivery,clientsuccessand continuous improvement.Working across the venue and the broader precinct, the Venue Manager partners closely with Customer Experience, Hospitality, Safety, Commercial,Finance, Marketing,Precinct and Support teams to deliver seamless event execution, strong client and guest outcomes, and sustainableinfrastructure andcommercial performance.This role requires confident leadership, soundjudgementand the ability tooperateeffectively in a complex, high profile, highpressureand fast paced environment,where competing priorities, diverse stakeholders and varied event profiles must be actively balanced.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESVenue Leadership & PerformanceLeadthe overall performance of John Cain Arena, ensuring safe,high-qualityand commercially sustainable delivery across operations, peopleand customer outcomes, balancing detail,paceand strategic intent.Leadthe overall performance of John Cain Arena, ensuring safe,high-qualityand commercially sustainable delivery across operations,peopleand customer outcomes.Lead the operational planning and delivery of major and complex events hosted at John Cain Arena, ensuring robust risk, safety,security,complianceand positive customeroutcomes across all event operations.Build and lead a high-performing venuemanagementteam and event workforce, fostering accountability,continuous improvement, anda culture ofcollaborationand shared successes.Strategy & PlanningDevelop and deliver venue-level strategy aligned to Melbourne Park''s broader precinct and organisational priorities.Contribute venue insight and leadership tobroader organisational strategy,major event planning, innovation initiatives and short to longterm venue development. Client,&Club RelationshipsBuild andmaintaintrusted relationships withclubs,clientsandpartners,with a focus on enabling strong client and commercial outcomes, while balancing stakeholder needs with operational, safety and organisational requirements.Customer Experience & Commercial OutcomesPartner with Customer Experience, Hospitality,Safety,Precinctand Commercial teams to deliver strong guest experiences and optimise commercial performance.Use insights,feedbackand performance data to drive continuous improvement in venue delivery,identifyingopportunities for innovation,optimisationand differentiation.ABOUT YOUYou are a senior venue orevent leader with a proventrack recordin managing complex, high-profile environments.You bring strongfinancial management, sound judgement, a collaborative leadership style and a curiosity for how venues perform,evolveand create value.You thrive in settings where safety,risk,customeroutcomesand performance excellence matter.You will bring:Significant experiencein venue or event leadership within a stadium,arenaor majorsporting orentertainment environment.Proven people leadership experience, including leading leaders and large, diversepermanent and casualworkforces.Highly effectivestakeholder management skills, with experience working withsporting clubs,promoters,partnersand internal teams.Sound commercial understanding, including revenue optimisation, costmanagementand the ability to interpret performance data to inform decisions. Confident operational,planning,riskmanagementand problem-solving capability in high-pressure environments. Excellent communication,influencingand decision-making skills. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience). Advantageous but not essential: Relevant certifications and licences such as Chief/FireWarden,FirstAid,Workplace Health & Safety.
