The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and values-driven Deputy Director of Nursing - Workforce & Community to provide professional nursing leadership, governance and strategic oversight of the community mental health nursing workforce. Reporting to senior nursing leadership, this role plays a critical part in shaping workforce sustainability, education pathways and professional practice while fostering a psychologically safe, inclusive and high-performing nursing culture. Key Responsibilities In this senior leadership role, you will: Lead and champion professional mental health nursing practice across community programs, fulfilling the Senior Psychiatric Nurse function and setting a strong, values-led culture. Own nursing workforce strategy and sustainability, chairing the Nursing Workforce Committee and driving ETP pathways, workforce planning and capability development. Provide decisive strategic and operational leadership of the mental health nursing workforce, delivering against KPIs, managing risk and operating within budget. Build confident, high-performing leaders and teams, through coaching, supervision and performance leadership, while representing nursing priorities across RMH, MHS and key external partners. About You Essential requirements include: Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent) Substantial experience leading teams across diverse mental health settings Demonstrated success in workforce planning, education pathways and stakeholder engagement Highly developed communication, coaching and mentoring skills Master''s qualification in Nursing or equivalent Experience in public mental health clinical services Why Join RMH Mental Health Services?
