Our Advanced Clinical Trial Centre (ACTC) opened in early 2024 and with private hospital accreditation, is home to our multi-disciplinary teams of Oncology & Haematology specialists, Research Physicians, Research Nurses, Laboratory Technicians and Clinical Trial Assistants. We are now looking for a Head of Clinical Operations to provide senior leadership across clinical, laboratory, and compliance functions, ensuring ACTC operates as a cohesive, inspection-ready licensed facility and is prepared for growth in complexity and volume. Your Role in Our Future As a member of the CTU Leadership Team, the Head of Clinical Operations focuses on providing oversight of clinical operations managing risk and escalation, and continuous improvement, rather than day-to-day operational coordination. You will have overall accountability for the ACTC as a licensed and accredited clinical trial facility, ensuring the safe, compliant, and effective delivery of clinical trials in line with approved protocols, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards. The JD_Head, Clinical Operations will provide a through insight into the role however some of your time will be spent; Ensuring robust risk assessment frameworks are in place across all studies, with clear ownership of risk assessment, mitigation, and escalation through Senior Nurse portfolios and functional leads. Actively promoting and ensuring adherence to clinical governance, protocols, regulations, GCP guidelines, company SOPs and standards of best practice; provides high level leadership to staff, in turn leading the Clinical Operations Group to deliver excellence in all nursing practices by keeping up to date with trends in clinical research. Providing leadership oversight of laboratory and compliance functions to ensure effective integration with clinical operations, clear escalation pathways, and consistent standards across the ACTC. Maintaining an advanced understanding of protocols across the portfolio to enable effective oversight, escalation, and support of Senior Nurses and functional leads. Actively participating and contributing to project scoping processes and start up meetings; providing expertise and advice on the development of proposals and feasibility of studies from a clinical perspective. This position will be offered on a full-time basis and will be based in Nedlands. Your Experience The preferred applicant for this role will be a senior clinical operations leader with experience operating in complex, regulated clinical environments with the ability to work at a system and governance level. You will be strategically minded with a demonstrated ability to anticipate and manage clinical and operational risk, strengthen governance frameworks, and prepare services for growth. Along with this, your application should also demonstrate the following; Advanced clinical skills along with current AHPRA registration. Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role. Excellent organisational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced small company environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to identify trends, establish benchmarks, and provide credible analyses and operational recommendations. Exceptional leadership skills, ability to motivate, coach and mentor staff to ensure outcomes are delivered and objectives are met; proven experience in managing a team. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to confidently engaging with sponsors, CROs, regulators, accreditation bodies, and senior clinical stakeholders, to represent ACTC as a high-performing, inspection-ready facility. Experience and knowledge of end-to-end management of clinical trial conduct, clinical trial standards, procedures and regulations, including ICH GCP, knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and an understanding of clinical drug development, clinical trials operations and regulatory components (desirable).
