If you would like to know more, please visit our website at Job Summary The Reservoir Engineer (RE) based in Brisbane, responsible for driving the success of our customers'' unconventional gas assets across Queensland (Surat and Bowen Basins). You will serve as the bridge between SLB''s advanced simulation technologies (Petrel, ECLIPSE, INTERSECT) and the operational needs of major CSG producers. By providing expert technical support, field development planning, and high-level training, you ensure the safe, efficient, and commercially superior delivery of products and services while maintaining SLB''s market leadership in the Queensland energy sector. Responsibilities Technical Advisory: Provide specialized support for CSG subsurface teams, utilizing ECLIPSE and INTERSECT to model complex coal reservoirs. Field Development Planning (FDP): Lead and assist in the design of development strategies for unconventional assets, focusing on well spacing, completion optimization, and production optimization. Training & Enablement: Deliver technical SLB software training sessions for clients to increase product adoption and technical proficiency. Competitive Strategy: Partner with Technical Sales and Service Delivery to identify competitive threats and demonstrate the superior value of SLB''s simulation and characterization workflows. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to apply new, cost-effective techniques in CSG production and formally communicate findings with AbTC. Operational Support: Assist in real-time incident response and provide technical validation for tenders to ensure commercial and technical viability. Industry Presence: Maintain high visibility within the Brisbane energy community through SPE (Society of Petroleum Engineers), contributing to technical publications, and engaging with Queensland-based research organizations and universities. Technical Requirements & Expertise The ideal candidate must demonstrate a deep understanding of the unique physics governing Coal Seam Gas reservoirs: CSG Simulation & Modeling: Expert-level proficiency in Petrel, ECLIPSE, and INTERSECT, specifically for dual-porosity/dual-permeability modeling. Production Forecasting: Advanced skills in both analytical (Type Curves, DCA) and numerical simulation methods for unconventional gas. CSG Physics: Sorption Dynamics: Langmuir Isotherm and time-dependent desorption processes. Geomechanics: Deep understanding of stress-dependent permeability and its impact on production life cycles. Well Modeling: Expertise in modeling CSG wellbore hydraulics. Minimum Qualifications Full Australian working rights. Bachelors or Masters of Engineering.
