Snowy Monaro Regional Council employs over 380 staff from all walks of life and working with us will give you the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful surrounds, progress your career and make a difference in our local community.About the Role:Operate assigned plant and vehicles and carry out labouring duties in the maintenance and construction of roads, parks and gardens and roadsides in accordance with Council standards, timetable, environmental and quality objectivesOperator minor plant including line markers, hoists, elevated work platforms, trucks, tractors, mowers, slashers, edges and brush cutters etc. Conduct regular maintenance checks and servicing of the plant to ensure a high level of operational standard is attainedContribute to the safety of staff and public through the appropriate use of safety equipment and clothing in accordance with relevant safety standards and Council proceduresDeliver Traffic Control at Worksites as directedFollow written and oral instructionsPromote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacityAbout You: To be successful in this role you will have:Driver''s Licence Class MR unrestrictedNSW WHS Construction Induction (White Card)Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of plant i.e. Line Markers, Hoists, Elevated Work Platforms, Trucks, Tractors, Mowers, Slashers, Brush Cutters etc.Proven ability and ongoing commitment to work as directed by Supervisor, according to Council''s prescribed practices, Code of Conduct and Work Health and Safety procedures, with or without supervisionDemonstrated ability to participate in toolbox talks as requiredProven ability to manually lift in accordance with WHS guidelinesHave an eye for detail especially in regards to cleaningDesirable Criteria:Traffic Control Tickets Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Guidance PlanDemonstration understanding of and the ability to maintain plant, equipment and hand tools in a safe and usable conditionDemonstrated experience with minor plant e.g. chainsaws, compaction equipment and power toolsCurrent First Aid CertificateProven ability to read and understand simple plansHow to Apply: Apply by submitting your cover letter and resume through the Apply link.
