OverviewByron Shire Council has a permanent part-time opportunity for an experienced Administration Officer to join our Sustainable Development team, working a minimum of 21 hours per week. In this role, you will provide professional, customer-focused administrative support across local approval functions, including Planning, Building Approvals and Certification. Success in this role will require a high level of attention to detail, particularly when accessing and updating information within the NSW Planning Portal.Some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Provide high-quality administrative support to the Sustainable Development team, technical officers, and other Council teams as required.Act as the first point of contact for incoming calls, responding to enquiries, redirecting calls, and accurately recording information.Coordinate appointments, inspections, correspondence, and telephone communications on behalf of technical officers.Deliver accurate, customer-focused information to internal and external stakeholders in line with Council policies and procedures.Access systems and registers, including the NSW Planning Portal, Council and Government registers, and local approval records.Prepare clear, professional documentation and contribute positively to a collaborative, team-based service delivery approach.Byron Shire Council is focused on partnering with our community and offers pristine beaches, diverse lifestyles, a magnificent natural environment and a subtropical climate.
