(Level A) $81,293 to $109,307 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.Role and ResponsibilitiesDrive innovation in next-generation battery technologies, strengthening the University''s research excellence while advancing sustainable energy solutions that benefit industry and society.Build and test next-generation metal-ion batteries, create materials, and manage energy storage research projects.Work under the supervision of Professor David Lewis within the School of Chemical Engineering, in the College of Engineering and Information Technology at the Adelaide City Campus (East).Experience and QualificationsPhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or related field.Knowledge of and expertise in:metal ion battery energy storage;laboratory based battery development, assembly, and testing;modern materials synthesis methodologies, such as electrodepositing and electroplating;modern materials characterization methodologies, such as Scanning Electron Microscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, and X-ray powder diffraction.Ability to work within a research group that includes a combination of undergraduate and graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and senior academic staff, under the direction of a supervisor.Good written (e.g. technical reports and scientific journal publications) and oral communication skills (e.g. seminars and conference presentations).Strong evidence of ability to undertake, complete and write-up scientific research (e.g. scientific journal publications).Inclusion and DiversityWe are committed to fostering a culture of inclusion where diversity is celebrated and everyone feels respected and valued.
