Assistant Accountant (full-time)Touchstone Group/Aeon MediaMelbourne CBD (hybrid work arrangements available)Salary: AU70,000 - AU85,000 + super, dependent on experienceThe Touchstone Group is a private, boutique fundsmanagement group focused on investment and philanthropy. Our investment activities range across property and the financial markets with a particular focus on global equities.The Group also supports Aeon Media, a registered charity that publishes two online magazines and runs an international events program. Aeon has offices in Melbourne, London and New York.We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of the finance function. This role is well suited to someone looking to build their career in accounting, gain exposure to financial reporting and compliance, and develop within a collaborative and supportive team environment.The RoleThe position reports to the Head of Finance, based in Melbourne.Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Assist with the preparation and maintenance of financial statements in line with accounting standardsManage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processingPerform bank and credit card reconciliations and monitor transactional cash balancesSupport monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, including month-end and year-end close activitiesPrepare journals, reconciliations and maintain the fixed asset registerAssist with tax returns, statutory compliance and audit processesSupport budgeting, forecasting and financial analysisAssist with payroll processing and related tasks as requiredMaintain accurate and wellorganised accounting records and documentationPerform general administrative tasks relating to accounting and property assetsContribute to process improvements and provide ad hoc support to the Head of FinanceWhat you will need to succeedA Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (completed or near completion)Currently undertaking, or intending to pursue, a professional accounting qualification (eg, CA or CPA) (will be considered favourably)3+ years'' experience in an accounting or finance roleA sound understanding of accounting principles and basic financial reportingExperience with accounts payable/receivable and general ledger processesProficiency with accounting software (eg, Xero, QuickBooks or similar) and intermediate skills in Excel, Word and OutlookStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to analyse information, problem-solve and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environmentA high level of integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive informationStrong written and verbal communication skillsA positive, teamoriented attitude with the ability to work independently when requiredNext steps:Send your CV and a one-page cover letter explaining why you are suited for the role to [email protected] Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.- Applicants without Australian work rights will not be considered.Applications close Wednesday 11 February midnight AEST #J-18808-Ljbffr
