And you''ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Amazon Data Services is looking for a Rack Decommissioning Data Technician to join our growing team in Melbourne. The Decommissioning Technical team is responsible for processing and facilitating large scale legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed from our facilities in Melbourne/Australia. Team members will also process large volumes of media containing customer data to ensure that all customer data is sanitized and protected. You will work in a team environment collaborating with other teams, which requires strong communication skills. Amazon Data Centers treat customer data with the utmost importance; selected candidates must be able to perform repetitive tasks without variance and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that ensure customer data is protected and handled properly.Key responsibilitiesProcessing legacy hardware out of the data center facilities in MelbourneMoving large enterprise equipmentLift up to 15kgHard drive removal and destructionCreating/attaching labels and barcodesWork with basic PC components and hardware like HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storage media & USB/FireWire/EsataA day in the lifeYou will work on decommission of data center infrastructure including racks, servers, and networking equipment following established SOPs as per workflow and ticket-based environment. Perform hardware operations such as rack installation, migration and systematic problem resolution. Maintain site organisation and cleanliness while demonstrating strong troubleshooting abilities.
