Tennant Creek is a modern town in the Northern Territory with a strong cultural heritage and community life.About The RoleThe RAOD Workforce Worker will be supported to undertake Alcohol and Other Drug education and training as part of a broader Community Support team. The team will enable the delivery of appropriate support for local individuals, families and communities in the Barkly Region affected by alcohol and/or other drugs.More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):Using your local knowledge skills to effectively communicate with Aboriginal people living in Tennant Creek and remote communities in the Barkly Region.Able to understand, recognise and respect Cultural practices and protocols.Undertake education and training for professional development useful for this position.Develop good relationships with other Anyinginyi Health Sections for education and training, referrals, support and advice, in addition to working with other Alcohol and Other Drugs service providers in the Barkly Region.Support meaningful and relevant Alcohol and Other Drugs education and training to help individuals, families and communities in the Barkly RegionWork within Anyinginyi Health''s Cultural FrameworkMaintain records of clients, training and education activities, referrals, community visits and workplace development training.About YouTo be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of local Aboriginal culture and traditions, with ability to discuss Alcohol and Other Drugs education, and where to find training and support.Please note: A National Police Clearance and Ochre Card (NT Working with Children''s) card obtainment is a requirement prior to commencement in this role.
