OverviewProvide support in the Collections & Exhibitions team; utilise and develop your administrative systems expertise. Full time ongoing position.About the PositionArts Centre Melbourne is seeking a detail-oriented Administrator to manage our Collections Systems and Digital Assets within our Exhibitions & Collections team. This exciting role sits at the intersection of culture and technology where youll play a key part in accurately maintaining our extensive performing arts collections.In this position you will utilise your technical expertise to oversee the day-to-day operation of the collections management systems ensuring that they function as the Collections central source of truth for knowledge and data. You will lead exhibition-related data analysis and support statutory reporting including asset management obligations collection audits and valuations. Working with the Collections Manager you will develop and implement best practice strategies to ensure the integrity of our systems is maintained.Full time ongoing position. Band 3.2 Salary $85347 per annum plus superannuation.Your Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceTertiary qualification and/or post-graduate qualification in Museum Studies Computer Science Information Technology or equivalentExperience in a similar role in the gallery and museum sectorExperience in the administration of collections management databases and other information systems such as Axiell EMu or equivalent and Digital Asset Management Systems (DAMS)Experience in the principles of digital collection asset management including digitising collection material and acquisition of born-digital materialUnderstanding of the architecture and design of databases and procedures for backing up and recovering dataUnderstanding the role of collection information systems across a diverse collection and multidiscipline organisationExtensive knowledge and demonstrated experience in national and international principles practices standards and ethics relating to the documentation and management of cultural collectionsExperience in project management organisation and planning skills; proven ability to manage competing deadlines work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver projects to tight deadlines and within budgetExcellent interpersonal and communication skills including written and oralProven experience with and understanding of current technology operating systems and applicationsCurrent drivers licence desirableAbout the TeamThe Collections business unit sits within the Performing Arts pillar and is responsible for delivering a breadth and range of exhibitions that meet ACMs curatorial framework objectives. The collections objectives are:To be Australias leading museum of performing arts and create content and exhibitions of national significance.To demonstrate excellence in the care development preservation documentation and display of the Performing Arts Collection.To provide our audiences with meaningful experiences through dynamic exhibitions and public programmes and innovative digital engagement.To recognise and celebrate our diverse communities and artists and celebrate their role in the visual and performing arts.To support contemporary practitioners through active collecting exhibiting and commissioning of new work.To deliver the Australian Music Vault in collaboration with the Australian music industry.Arts Centre Melbourne acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land on which we gather the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung.
