Add expected salary to your profile for insightsAbout the roleBinna Burra Mountain Lodge is seeking a full-time Maintenance & Grounds Assistant Manager to join our team in Binna Burra, QLD. This role supports the Maintenance & Grounds Manager in the day-to-day coordination of maintenance and grounds operations across the property.You will work closely with the Manager to assist with planning, prioritisation, compliance, and oversight, while remaining actively involved in hands-on maintenance and grounds work.What you''ll be doingUndertaking general maintenance and grounds duties including minor repairs, painting, basic carpentry, and physically demanding work such as regular inspection and maintenance of waterlinesSupporting the Maintenance & Grounds Manager with daily operational coordination and task prioritisationProviding on-site supervision and direction to maintenance staff, contractors, and volunteers as requiredIdentifying, prioritising, and addressing maintenance, safety, and presentation issues in a timely mannerAssisting with WHS compliance, hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident reportingResponding promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and internal teamsAssisting with event and function set-up and pack-downMaintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and completed worksAbout youDemonstrated experience in a maintenance or grounds role, ideally within hospitality, tourism, facilities management, or a similar operational environmentExperience supporting a manager in a senior or assistant capacityStrong practical skills across a broad range of maintenance and grounds tasksAbility to work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions on-siteStrong communication skills with a collaborative and professional approachHigh attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety, presentation, and guest experienceAvailability to work weekends and public holidaysLicences, tickets & complianceTrade qualification or trade background (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or similar)Experience working within WHS systems, including safe work procedures and hazard reportingExperience in SWTP (not essential but highly favourable)Previous experience in a management or supervisory rolePhysical capacity to perform outdoor and manual workWhat we offerPart of the new lodge opening teamDiscounted accommodation and mealsOpportunity to step into a senior operational support roleSupportive, values-driven team cultureAbout usBinna Burra Mountain Lodge is a heritage-listed eco-tourism destination located in Lamington National Park, just 40 minutes from the Gold Coast (no onsite accommodation).
