Their commitment to quality, transparency, and customer support is evident in every project they undertake.About the opportunityThis Operations Manager position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day workshop and production operations, with accountability for performance, cost, quality, and delivery. The candidate will lead a team of fabricators and welders while working closely with the directors to ensure the operational function is efficient, safe, and commercially sound.In this role, you will:Manage endtoend workshop operations and production schedulesDeliver projects on time and to required quality standardsDrive operational efficiencies across people, processes, and equipmentApply lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows and reduce wasteTake ownership of the operations function and its outcomesContribute to and manage P&L outcomes for the operations areaOversee purchasing of materials and consumables to meet production requirementsManage and enhance daily operations and team performanceLead Quality Assurance, including ITPs, MDRs, and inspection processesEnsure compliance with health and safety requirements and reporting obligationsUndertake estimations and project management for incoming and ongoing workGuide the business to ensure operations are structured, supported, and well managedAbout youTo be successful, you will be a qualified boilermaker, welder or fabricator with demonstrated leadership experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment, ideally at a supervisor, production or operations level.You will ideally have:Experience in leading and managing a workshop / production teamExperience with ERP systems and production schedulingPractical application of lean manufacturing and continuous improvementExposure to P&L, budgeting, and cost control for operationsExperience with purchasing, inventory, and supply chain for a fabrication environmentStrong understanding of OHS, risk management, and complianceExperience with ITPs, MDRs, QA systems and inspection processesBackground in estimations and project management for fabrication or similar projectsStrong problemsolving skills and attention to detailAbility to train, mentor, and develop team membersWhat is on offerThis position offers a pathway for long-term career development within a stable business.
