About the roleCandied Bakery is seeking a quality, honest, experienced and talented Head Baker to lead our bread and savoury production team and take our bread and baked goods to the next level. Being a good person who cares about their environment. As the Head Baker, you will be responsible for overseeing all bread and savoury aspects of our bakery operations, from recipe development to bakery team management, to ensure we continue to deliver the highest quality products to our customers. This is a full-time position based at our bakery in Spotswood, Victoria.What you''ll be doingHelp develop new recipes to expand our product rangeManage the daily baking production schedule and workflow to meet customer demandOversee the purchasing of ingredients and equipment to maintain quality and efficiencyTrain, mentor and supervise the bakery production teamEnsure all baking operations adhere to health, safety and food hygiene regulationsCollaborate with the management team to identify opportunities for process improvementsMonitor and maintain detailed records of production, inventory and costsYou will be working alongside our Bakery manager and head pastry chef in ensuring we produce only the best.What we''re looking forMinimum 3 years of experience as a Head Baker or in a similar senior baking roleProven expertise in creating high-quality sourdough breads, Pies, Sausage rolls and other baked goodsStrong knowledge of baking techniques, food safety standards and industry regulationsExcellent time management and organisational skills to coordinate a busy production scheduleAbility to lead and motivate a team of bakers and production staffPassion for using quality ingredients and continuously improving products and processesTertiary qualification in baking, patisserie or a related culinary field preferredWhat we offerCompetitive salary and annual performance-based bonusesOngoing professional development and training opportunitiesEmployee discount on all Candied Bakery productsFlexible work arrangements and a focus on work-life balanceAbout usCandied Bakery is a Husband and Wife family-owned artisanal bakery that has been proudly serving the local community of Spotswood for over 14 years.
