Located atop The Jump-Up, a stunning mesa in Central West Queensland, the Museum houses the world''s largest collection of Australian dinosaur fossils.Since its establishment in 2009, the Museum has grown into an iconic attraction, featuring a Fossil Preparation Laboratory, the March of the Titanosaurs exhibition, the Gondwana Stars Observatory, and Dinosaur Canyon. Additionally, the Museum manages Dinosaur Stampede National Monument at Lark Quarry Conservation Park, the site of the world''s only known record of a dinosaur stampede.The Museum is entering its next stage of growth and is seeking a Reception Centre Manager to oversee day-to-day management of the Reception Centre and front-of-house operations.A career that''s 100 million years in the making!As Reception Centre Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Museum''s Reception Centre and associated satellite sites, ensuring the effective delivery of guest-facing programs, retail, caf, and accommodation services.Reporting to the Head of Museum, you will provide front-of-house and operational support, including exhibitions, accommodation, and visitor experiences, while supporting staff and maintaining high standards of customer service.More specifically, your responsibilities will include:Managing daily operations at the Reception Centre, Museum exhibitions, and Dinosaur StampedeOverseeing Museum programs, accommodation bookings, and third-party eventsManaging ResPax booking software and associated tour documentationLeading stock management, operations, and staff of the Museum Caf and Park CafSupervising retail merchandising and stock control for both the Museum and Park shopsDriving high-quality internal and external customer service outcomesManaging social media scheduling and complaint handlingSupporting staff recruitment, rostering, and human resources processesConducting staff training, inductions, and coordinating cross-site operationsSupporting Museum-wide initiatives and contributing to continuous improvementIs this you?This role is suited to someone with formal qualifications relevant to visitor services, business management, or food safety. To be eligible, you must hold or be able to obtain a Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), National Police Check.Essential skills and experience:Demonstrated customer service expertise in a public-facing environmentEffective team leadership and people management experienceFamiliarity with booking systems, ideally ResPaxHuman resources knowledge, including rostering, recruitment, and staff developmentProficiency in administrative systems and reportingHighly regarded qualifications and experience:Event coordination or hospitality backgroundExperience within a museum, tourism, or not-for-profit environmentKnowledge of workplace health and safety and food safety requirementsExperience with social media or digital content managementHolding Food Safety Supervisor certification, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification or First Aid and CPR certificates.As our ideal candidate, you will be organised, collaborative, and passionate about delivering service excellence.
