OverviewJob no: 505243 | Work type: Contract Full Time | Location: Various | Categories: Journalism/Content MakingCurate the national homepage of ABC News12-month fixed term contractBase salary $92K to $110K (paid on a pro rata basis)The RoleThe ABC is looking for a Front-Page Editor to curate engaging content for the ABC News website and app, using your editorial instincts to spotlight what matters most, while building strong relationships across diverse teams.The JobCurate and edit the ABC News front page, showcasing top stories and features.Use data and editorial experience to meet audience needs.Test, refine and optimise front-page placement for mobile, app, and desktop audiences.Collaborate across teams to refine presentation and strategy.Guide best practices in headlines and story promotion.Work with Technology teams to improve audience experience.Stay across audience insights, trends, and diversity in storytelling.Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in digital news.Advanced digital skills, including publishing systems and analytics tools.Deep understanding of online news presentation and social media.Proven teamwork and composure in fast-paced, breaking news environments.Passion for telling diverse Australian stories and maintaining broad community connections.About ABC NewsQuality journalism, powerful investigations, outstanding production, and a collaborative, engaged and supportive workplace that offers opportunities and career development across regional and metropolitan Australia.
