Job Description

Purpose of the Role:Mallacoota Community Health, Infrastructure and Resilience Fund Inc. (CHIRF) is building a new Wellbeing Centre in Mallacoota, funded by a $2m infrastructure grant. A Water Therapy Pool has been identified by community and allied health providers as a crucial addition to improve rehabilitation, mobility, mental wellbeing and healthy ageing outcomes. Funding for the pool is not included in the structural grant, therefore a targeted philanthropic and community fundraising strategy is required. The fundraising campaign should target both individual and philanthropic donations and explore sponsorship opportunities. It should be designed to leverage peak tourist visitation in Mallacoota, ensuring maximum community and visitor engagement.The purpose of this assignment is to develop a targeted fundraising strategy and guide the execution of a campaign including messaging, donor engagement, campaign phases, digital and physical tools, and sponsorship structures to secure funds for the Water Therapy Pool.The tasks and deliverables of this Assignment are:Deliver an effective fundraising campaign strategy to support Mallacoota CHIRF raise funds for a Water Therapy Pool.The strategy should contain:Recommended tools, channels and platforms (e.g., branded donor page, QR codes, social media, POS materials, local business partnerships, events/activation ideas) to be used as part of the campaign.A sponsorship framework including tiered giving and recognition.Clear messaging and a campaign narrative.A simple content plan and timeline.Advice on donor capture, follow-up and stewardship (ensuring long-term relationships).Checklist for implementation (to be used by CHIRF volunteers and staff).Selection Criteria:EssentialDemonstrated expertise in community fundraising strategy, campaign planning and NFP giving programs.Proven track record in designing and advising successful donation campaigns.Understanding of philanthropic and sponsorship engagement approaches.Ability to produce clear donation pathways and compelling campaign narratives.Experience prioritising efficient, high-return activity suitable for small volunteer teams.DesirableExperience in rural/remote community fundraisingUnderstanding of health/wellbeing and ageing support servicesSkills in lightweight (simple, quick to produce) brand-aligned campaign content and philanthropic storytellingPrerequisites for undertaking volunteering assignments:To register with ABV (if not already registered):At least 5 years relevant professional experienceYou must be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident residing in Australia. Australian Citizens residing overseas may be considered on a case by case basis.Willingness to complete a police check and Working With Children CheckWillingness to be interviewed and have references checkedOnce you have passed registration phase:Willingness to interview for the role with ABV program staffAcceptable police check and Working with Children Check before commencementSign the ABV Letter of Agreement (Code of Conduct, etc)Medical check (external and ABV), compliance with all travel, entry and in-country requirements (where required).You are expected to abide by any COVID regulations of the destination country or the partner organisation with whom you may work.
