To deliver on this new and exciting work, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to undertake longterm, worldleading training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, U.S.This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to further your career and professional capabilities through collaborations and upskilling with worldleading industry partners.Placements are available in Q3 2026 and will be approximately 114 weeks in duration.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues with submarine Weapons and Firing Systems.Develop and review test plans, procedures, and schedules for these systems and associated equipment.Provide onsite field support in shipyards, onboard vessels, at sea, or other locations as required.Ensure compliance with security regulations and safety protocols in naval shipyard environments.Eligibility CriteriaAustralian CitizenshipBachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) nonnegotiable minimum qualification requirement15 years'' experience (desirable)Experience within the defence industry or on submarines (desirable)The ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearanceAdditional DetailsDuring deployment, you will receive onthejob training combined with instructorled classroom training. This training program and work is carried out in accordance with company and US Navy processes and procedures.At the completion of your deployment, you will return to Western Australia (WA) to carry out the planning, management, and inwater maintenance activities on the United States Navy Virginia Class Submarines at HMAS Stirling.
