Come and be a part of this success.About The RoleThe Track Resurfacing Lead is responsible for planning and managing the execution of resurfacing works that make up a portion of the larger track renewal shut. This includes scoping (identifying required machine travel and stabling, tamping and regulating requirements, ballast drops and loading) and management of the resurfacing team to complete the required works. For a respective shutdown, the Track Resurfacing Lead will work under the shutdown lead and alongside the supervisors of other disciplines including civil and signalling. Outside of shutdowns the resurfacing lead will manage all tamping and regulating scopes executed by the Track Renewals tamping team.Developing and implementing track renewals methodologies in accordance with BHP procedures and industry best practice and standards.Planning of track renewals projects and shutdowns including the staging plans, Gantt schedule, resourcing tables and structure of the teams to enable safe and efficient execution of resurfacing works.Management of the Track Renewals resurfacing contractor team to ensure the safe execution of the work bank, including adherence to site access and contract requirements. Monitor work progress and contractor resource capability and capacity.Confirm works are constructed to contractual requirements and timelines including adherence to RFQ/SOW and authorising of ITPs.Ensure standards are adhered to and work is undertaken in a safe and efficient manner, including hazard/risk identification during establishing execution methodologies, development of required controls and verification that identified controls are in place and working.Perform site safety functions.Drive an improvement culture.Management of the Track Renewals internal execution team including performance management, team structure and recruitment.About YouOur preferred candidate will have the following skills and experience:Leadership experience in track renewals supervisionCertificate III in Rail Infrastructure and additional electives (highly desirable)Supervisory experience in track renewals works including plain line, turnouts and cross overs, level crossings, re rail and stress managementEffective and collaborative communication style, interpersonal and people management skills with a range of audiencesComputer literacy with Microsoft suite, 1SAP and planning systemsGood planning skills and the ability to oversee projects to successful completionAdministration and prioritisation including time management capabilityCompetent in reading design drawings, plans and schedulesExperience with risk management in rail track works environmentSound knowledge of Railroad Operating Rules and industry standards (safety and quality)Current full West Australian drivers license or current equivalent Australian StateExperience with planning and executing Track Works including Rail & StressManagement of Track Construction, Construction of turnouts and level crossing constructionAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
