Find your future with us.LocationToowoomba WellcampCategoryBusiness SupportPosition TypePermanentJob ReferenceBOE/1905355AttachmentsShare ThisThe OpportunityBoeing Defence Australia (BDA) is seeking a EHS Specialist to join the MQ28 Ghost Bat Production Facility build at Wellcamp Toowoomba, QLD.This is a rare opportunity to work on Boeing''s first final assembly facility outside North America and help build a state-of-the-art site that will deliver Australia''s first military-designed combat aircraft in more than 50 years and redefine how advanced aircraft are made.In this role you will build something that matters, grow with a high-performing team, and leave a legacy in Australian defence manufacturing.ResponsibilitiesConduct regular site inspections and safety walkthroughs with site leadership, workers, contractors and others to identify hazards, unsafe acts or noncompliances to improve project safety outcomes.Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and rolespecific safety information in daily pre-start meetings, ensuring workers understand hazards, controls and emergency procedures.Review and work with site leadership to maintain and uphold project compliance to safety documentation including project WHS plans, SWMS, task risk assessments, permits, plant pre-start records and safe systems of work.Liaise with project stakeholders (PM, site supervisors, contractors, clients and regulators) to coordinate project safety requirements and resolve EHS issues.Coordinate emergency preparedness: maintain and test emergency plans, firstaid provisions, rescue teams and emergency drills.Collect, verify and maintain records of worker competency, licenses, trade certificates and induction certificates ensure documents are valid, stored in the competency register, update expiry reminders, and provide access reports to site management and contractors.Manage plant project onboarding - ensure the required plant documents are obtained and stored IAW project processes.Assist in incident reporting, investigation and the development of corrective actions.Support project leadership and the Senior EHS Specialist to ensure effective WHS consultation across the project scope.Assist in the development and maintenance of the construction project risk register.Assist in the development of Safe Work Method Statements for high-risk construction works.Who We''re Looking ForExperience in dedicated EHS roles within construction is preferred.Tertiary qualifications in EHS.Working knowledge of WHS and environmental codes, legislation and risk management methodologiesStrong commitment to maintaining a safe working environmentExperience in supplier quality management, audits and corrective action processes.Excellent attention to detail, analytical problem solving and clear documentation skills.Strong communication skills with the ability to engage site teams and stakeholders at all levels.Valid Construction White CardWillingness to be based at Wellcamp with occasional travel to suppliers and Boeing sites.Security requirementApplicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements.LocationWellcamp (Toowoomba Regional Airport), Queensland, AustraliaRelocationWill be considered for the right applicant.Built on Boeing values your everyday guideSafety & Quality: Prioritise safety and deliver robust, reliable designs that Defence trusts.Trust: Operate with integrity, transparency and an unwavering commitment to customer priorities.People Focus: Thrive in a collaborative culture that values respect, mentoring and teamwork.Ownership: Take pride in your work and be accountable for delivering excellence across the lifecycle.Innovation: Bring curiosity and creativity to turn technical challenges into capability advantage.What''s In It For YouWork on a once-in-a-generation defence program: be part of the delivery for Boeing''s first final assembly facility outside North America and help produce Australia''s first military-designed combat aircraft in 50+ years a standout, high-visibility achievement for your career.Real legacy and impact: contribute to a state-of-the-art facility and a program that will redefine advanced aircraft manufacturing in Australia.Strong safety and values-driven culture: to operate within Boeing''s safety-first, integrity-led environment that emphasises quality, ownership and innovation.Join us and help build something big a sovereign manufacturing capability, a bold new aircraft program, and the next chapter for Boeing in Australia.Equal Opportunity EmployerWe are an equal opportunity employer.
