$48 $52 per hour + 18% loading for afternoonNational Transport Company requires Diesel Mechanics for our Burton Workshop.The modern workshop providing the latest technology and facilities was completed in June 2021. With award conditions and a safe, clean and healthy work environment.Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the team of diesel mechanics are responsible for the professional maintenance and repairs of trucks, trailers and equipment in the general freight, container and tanker fleet.ResponsibilitiesRepairs, servicing and testing of company vehicles, trailers and equipment as per the company service scheduleDiagnostic and preventative maintenance and initiativesAttend breakdowns (where required)Assist workshop manager and fellow team membersQualifications and ExperienceTo be successful, you will possess the following skills and experience:Car licence as a minimum; a heavy vehicle licence would be advantageousExperience in diagnosing and repairing general mechanical faultsPrevious gearbox, general repairs and servicing duties experienceDemonstrate a willingness to undertake general repairs within the depot and wash bays.Understanding of NHVAS requirements, workshop compliance and Australian Truck Safety Standards.Reliable with a good work ethic.Motivated and team orientatedMedically fit and prepared to undertake a preemployment medical with drug & alcohol screening.Company uniform supplied, permanent, full time position.
