Asset Management is responsible for the strategic stewardship of all Councilowned built and natural assets, including roads, stormwater, waterways, buildings, property, electricity services, parks and community assets, ensuring they deliver maximum value for Brisbane''s residents in line with the Brisbane Vision 2031.As part of this team, you will contribute directly to maintaining accurate spatial asset data that underpins critical planning, operational decisionmaking and citywide service delivery.The RoleIn this role, you will be responsible for capturing, validating and maintaining Council''s spatial asset information derived from asconstructed drawings, CAD files and civil plans. You''ll translate these technical artefacts into accurate, standardised GIS features within Council''s ESRI Enterprise environment, ensuring each asset is positioned correctly, attributed accurately and aligned with established schemas and business rules.You will apply strong analytical skills to interpret complex asset information, resolve data discrepancies, execute quality checks and maintain data integrity across a wide range of asset types. A key component of the role is understanding how different assets relate to one another and how they function across the broader network, enabling you to make informed data capture decisions and recognise the operational implications of accuracy and completeness.Communication will be central to your success. You''ll engage regularly with engineers, asset custodians, field crews and stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate interpretations and ensure datasets align to business expectations.This role is well suited to someone who enjoys detailed, highvolume data capture and takes pride in precision, but it also requires a genuine willingness to learn and adapt. The position will be transitioning into a new team, meaning processes, responsibilities and ways of working will continue to evolve. You''ll bring curiosity, flexibility and a proactive approach to navigating change, while contributing to the refinement of workflows and asset data practices as the team defines its longterm direction.To be successful you will havesound working knowledge of the ESRI Enterprise suite and ArcGIS Pro for spatial data capture, editing and quality assuranceexperience using relational databases (e.g. Oracle) to store, manage or query spatial and assetrelated informationstrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical information, assess data quality, resolve inconsistencies and apply business rules to produce reliable GIS outputsdemonstrated organisational skills to manage a steady workflow of capture requests and meet agreed service levelscustomerfocused communication skills to liaise with engineers, asset custodians and field staff, and to write concise operational notesability to work both collaboratively in a small team and independently when working to a roster or on priority tasksadaptability and willingness to learn as the role continues to evolve within a newly formed teamexposure to utility datasets and asset management concepts, with interest in progressing into assetmanagementoriented GIS worktertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or membership of a relevant professional organisation (desirable but not essential)optional exposure to SAP or similar asset management systems (desirable but not essential)Benefits of working for Council includeflexible working hours, and flexible arrangementsfree gym and wellness centreaward winning superannuation fundgenerous leave provisionscompetitive salaryHow to applyClick on the ''I''m interested'' button to complete your online application.
