This position provides support to the City Resilience Disaster Preparedness and Education team by collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders, to assist in the development and delivery of community engagement and education strategies and initiatives that enhance city-wide disaster preparedness and foster resilience among Brisbane residents and communities.It is a role of two facets, you are preparing, educating and engaging when there aren''t disaster events and when mother nature strikes you are working in Council''s Local Disaster Coordination Centre to collaboratively respond to disasters.To be successful you will have:strong skills in event management and ability to coordinate in a dynamic environmentability to prepare and present to the community (often out of office hours)passion for keeping the community up to date on tools and resources available to support their severe weather preparednessexcellent attention to detail, organisation and time management skillsstrong stakeholder management skills and local government knowledge to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholdersan understanding of disaster management, Local Disaster Coordination Centre operations is highly regarded.This role requires active participation in the City Resilience Branch Duty Officer roster and undergo essential training.
