You''ll collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver impactful features and improvements while working on challenges at the intersection of developer experience, scalability, and performance.This is a highly collaborative, handson role where you''ll contribute to product development, influence architectural decisions, and help shape the future of Buildkite''s platform.What You''ll DoDesign, build, and ship features that improve developer experience and productivityCollaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to shape solutions that solve customer problemsPair program and participate in code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedbackContribute to technical decisions, balancing trade-offs between performance, scalability, and maintainabilityBuild and maintain highquality, welltested, and maintainable codeParticipate in customer research, discovery sessions, and feedback loops to inform product developmentHelp mentor and upskill other engineers within the teamStay curious and experiment with emerging tools, patterns, and practicesWhat You BringStrong communication skills, with empathy and kindness in both written and verbal collaborationPassion for writing clean, maintainable, and welltested codeAbility to analyze technical tradeoffs, articulate solutions clearly, and build team consensusComfortable working directly with customers and incorporating feedback into product developmentFamiliarity with CI/CD systems, developer tooling, and DevOps conceptsExample Technical Stacks:Ruby on Rails / React / GraphQL / Relay Growth, Test AnalyticsPostgreSQL or other relational databases at scaleKafka / Flink / ML frameworks optional if relevantExperience configuring or working with modern CI platformsAt Buildkite, we value kindness, autonomy, and collaboration.
