Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a Research Data Officer to join the PEARLS research team at Burnet Institute.In this role, you will support a large multi-country health research study by ensuring the integrity, quality and effective use of research data. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining electronic data capture systems, monitoring data quality, producing reports and visualisations, and collaborating with local and international research partners.You will also:Develop, maintain and optimise study databases and electronic data capture tools (e.g. REDCap)Conduct routine data monitoring, validation and query resolution across multiple study sitesProduce data reports, dashboards and visualisations to support research analysis and decision-makingContribute to data management manuals, training materials and study documentationWork closely with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, statisticians, trial managers and international collaboratorsRefer to the attached position description for full details. This is a 2-year fixed-term position (0.8 - 1.0 FTE, with 1.0 FTE preferred). The role offers flexible working hours and the option to work from home up to 2-3 days per week.Let''s talk about youThe following criteria are essential requirements:Degree qualification in statistics, data science, information systems, computer science, science or a related disciplineAt least two years'' post-study experience performing research data management using programming languages (e.g. R, Python) or statistical packages (e.g. Stata)Demonstrated understanding of the end-to-end research data lifecycle within a health research environmentHands-on experience with electronic data capture systems such as REDCapStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse, multidisciplinary and international teamsThe following are preferable but not essential:The Burnet experience...We want you to have a successful and meaningful career at Burnet and are committed to providing a supportive workplace environment for all our people.
