You will bring strong clinical judgment, a collaborative approach, and the ability to provide calm, steady support in complex and emotionally sensitive situations.To be successful in this role you will have:Tertiary qualification (AQF level 7) in social work, psychology, counselling, or related discipline.Demonstrated experience in providing counselling to those effected by childhood trauma, abuse, and neglect.Demonstrated understanding of lived experience and support needs of people who have experienced adoption.Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma specific therapeutic interventions with vulnerable people.It would be a bonus if you have:Postgraduate (AQF level 9) qualification in social work, psychology, counselling, or related discipline.Experience in working with cultural diversity.What you will be doingThe Counsellor/Caseworker of Post Adoption Support Services will provide direct services which support individuals and families who are part of the South Australian adoption communities including people who have been adopted (adults and children), birth parents, adoptive parents, and to wider family members who have been involved in local or intercountry adoptions.Provide high quality short-to medium-term trauma-informed support and counselling to address the impacts associated with adoption across the lifespan.Facilitate holistic support and referral using face-to-face, telehealth, telephone, and web-based technologies to ensure client access, effective liaison, and collaboration with interagency partners.Promote client safety, effective case planning, review and referral through universal holistic screening and risk assessment using the Detection of Overall Risk Screen (DOORS), Kessler 10 and Work Social Adjustment Scale.Provide sound interventions based on current clinical evidence and therapeutic methodologies.Ensure principles of confidentiality are adhered to within the contexts of mandatory reporting obligations and Information Sharing Guidelines (ISG).For more information you can read the full Position Description.If this role is what you are looking for, we''d love to hear from you.Enquiries: Any enquiries can be addressed to Nikki Hartmann on **********@rasa.org.auThis job ad will close at 5pm on 16 January 2026. #J-18808-Ljbffr
