Canteen is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and people of all ages.About UsWe are now seeking a Team Leader - Clinical Services - VIC/TAS, who will play a pivotal role in providing practice leadership, mentoring, and advanced clinical guidance across Canteen''s Services team. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact within youth psychosocial support and program delivery, and to be part of an organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.This Team Leader role provides day-to-day direction, practice leadership, mentoring, advanced clinical guidance, and coordinated support across the Canteen Services team, contributing to the effective delivery of high-quality psychosocial support and programs for young people and families impacted by cancer. This includes practice leadership for counselling services, therapeutic case management, digital and in-person support programs, and recreation and overnight programs.The Team Leader will work closely with the State Manager and internal and external stakeholders to support the development of a strong, cohesive team across multiple states, fostering collaboration and best practices across service delivery areas. They will be responsive to changing needs and in conjunction with the State Manager and Senior Practice Lead, help ensure our services are responsive, evidence based and aligned with Canteen''s Psychosocial Model of Care.The role operates within a matrix structure where the Team Leader provides day-to-day guidance, mentoring and professional direction, while state planning, priorities, and formal accountability rests with the State Manager.They will show advanced clinical service competency and hold a small clinical caseload while fulfilling leadership and program responsibilities. Find out more on our LinkedIn Life Page.Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).5 Weeks Annual Leave (FTE) + 17.5% leave loading + pay during our annual office closure week.Early access to long service leave.Learning & development opportunities.About Our RoleDay-to-day guidance, mentoring and practice leadership Lead and support clinical and program staff across Victoria and Tasmania, provide supervision, mentoring, and professional development.Clinical expertise Deliver advanced counselling, psycho-oncology support, grief and bereavement services, and maintain a small clinical caseload.Programs delivery coordination Support design and delivery of youth programs, therapeutic group work, and overnight camps.Stakeholder engagement Build and maintain relationships with hospital teams, community organisations, and other key stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and community engagement.Continuous improvement Contribute to policy development, quality assurance, and service evaluation to ensure high-quality, evidence-based practice across the team.About YouTertiary qualification in psychology, social work, counselling, or a related field.Current registration with AHPRA or eligibility for membership of the AASW, PACFA or similar peak accreditation body.Specialist skill in youth psychosocial support, grief and bereavement, or psycho-oncology.Strong interpersonal skills, with a warm, compassionate, and friendly approach.Proactive, positive attitude, and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.Experience leading teams, mentoring, and supporting collaborative, high-performance cultures.Due to the nature of Canteen''s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings.
