OverviewLocation: Shellharbour, NSW; Full-time position. The Senior Civil Crew Member (City Presentation) is essential to the Works and Services team, responsible for operating machinery (street sweeping) and leading civil activities that contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the city''s public assets. This role requires hands-on experience in civil construction and maintenance, and the ability to coordinate tasks effectively.Position detailsPosition Title: Senior Civil Crew Member (City Presentation) Reports to: Team Co-Ordinator, Building and Maintenance Employment Type: Full-Time, 38 hours per week, 9 day fortnight Location: Oak Flats, NSW Salary: $62,372 to $68,864 per annum dependent on qualifications, skills and experience Allowances: Adverse Working Conditions Allowance (Level 1) of $19.49 per week in accordance with the applicable awardResponsibilitiesCarrying out civil maintenance and presentation activities, including concreting, stormwater drainage, road repairs, street furniture installation, asset cleaning, manual excavation, and operating assigned plant.Operating a large street sweeper.Organising and coordinating staff, equipment and resources to support safe, efficient and costeffective civil works.Inspecting work areas, identifying hazards or defects and using Council''s systems to report and address maintenance needs.Completing assigned tasks independently and providing guidance or direction to other team members when required.Maintaining and improving Council assets by following engineering standards, completing required documentation and suggesting practical work solutions.Candidate profileThe ideal candidate will possess a strong background in civil construction and maintenance, along with a commitment to safety and quality. You should have the ability to operate heavy plant machinery and work independently while also being a supportive team member.Essential RequirementsCertificate III in Civil Construction and Maintenance or equivalent.At least 3 years of experience in relevant civil maintenance and construction activities in two or more of the following: concreting, drainage, road repairs, street furniture, precinct presentationProven ability to operate a streetsweeper (MR licence required).Strong communication skills and experience in customer service.Ability to interpret technical plans and work schedules.Current NSW Driver''s Licence - Class MR or ability to obtain within probationary period.General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or ability to obtain prior to employment.Desirable requirementsCertificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalentDemonstrated experience in estimating, applying budgets, recording and reviewing costs or worksCompetent in plant operation including either excavator, skid steer or backhoeLocal government experienceAdditional informationWe value candidates who demonstrate initiative, have a proactive approach to problem-solving, and are committed to continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
