Check out our employee value proposition and what it is like to work at Hornsby Shire Council.About The RoleKey responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Maintain reserves, playgrounds and sporting facilities to agreed standardsMonitor the condition of sports grounds, playground equipment, park facilities and furniture and organise any necessary maintenance and/or repairsPrune / remove trees and shrubs within parks, reserves and on nature strips as required.Operate small plant and equipmentReport any incidents or accidents in line with procedures (safehold or mechanical workshop)Lead a small team, assisting in staff performance management as required, including the annual appraisal/review processObserve and implement as appropriate all Council determinations including code of Conduct, EEO and WH&SPosition RequirementsCurrent MR drivers license (desirable)Current Class C drivers license (essential)Occupational Health and Safety Induction Certificate for construction work (essential)Current Chainsaw qualifications (desirable)Current Traffic Controller ticket (desirable)Current Basic First Aid Certificate (desirable)Chemcert training (desirable)About YouThe ideal candidate will have experience leading a small team, be forward-thinking, well organised, and capable of effectively prioritising tasks.
