You will have the children''s best interests at heart and facilitate respectful relationships both with colleagues and parents as you deliver delicious, varied and nutritious meals and snacks for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.The Caterer position works primarily within school hours, typically between 8.30am and 2.30pm, providing a great opportunity for experienced cooks looking for the flexibility to fit in with family or other commitments.This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.Key Activities Of This Role IncludePlan, display, prepare and evaluate fortnightly menus according to nutritional guidelines as recommended by the NSW Health Department for all children in care in consultation with staff and familiesProvide a diversity of menus to reflect the nutritional, cultural and dietary requirements for all children in careOrganise kitchen supplies and delivery for both consumable and durable goods in accordance with the annual/weekly budget under the supervision of the Centre DirectorChampion and maintain the health, hygiene and safety standards of kitchen utensils and equipment according to statutory regulations.About YouIdeally holding a Statement of Attainment in Food Handling, you have solid recent experience in a similar role catering for large groupsYou have a current, valid Working with Children''s Check Clearance (or are willing to obtain prior to any formal offer of employment)You want to work for the benefit of children and families in your communityYou are adaptable and self motivated, bringing a positive and organised approach to your work, and enjoy being part of a lively team environmentHaving a work/life balance is important to youOur position description provides more information for you to learn more about this role.Other Important InformationThe commencing salary for this position is up to $733 per week.
