Join our team as a Community Recovery & Resilience Officer Your responsibilities will include: Leading community engagement and collaboration activities across the Redlands Coast to understand Tropical Cyclone (TC) Alfred recovery needs, support communityled initiatives, and build strong partnerships with groups, businesses, service providers and key recovery workers. Driving the development, review and delivery of community recovery and resilience plans, incorporating lessons learned from TC Alfred and ensuring alignment with local, state and national resilience approaches. Building community capability and readiness by strengthening the skills, knowledge and resilience practices of individuals, organisations and service providers, and raising awareness of available recovery and resilience funding opportunities, including grant preparation support. Contributing to Redland''s disaster management and recovery framework by participating in Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) and Human & Social Group activities, sharing resilience information and bestpractice ideas, and supporting essential supply chain stability planning during events and throughout recovery. Skills and experience: Demonstrated leadership in disaster recovery and community resilience , including experience developing, delivering, monitoring and evaluating recovery or resilience projects, strategies and policies; applying QDMA, DRFA and other statutory frameworks; and integrating legislative, strategic and funding requirements into planning. Proven ability to lead placebased, communityled engagement across diverse communities including robust knowledge of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands with experience delivering widespread engagement activities, working sensitively with people impacted by trauma, and facilitating capacitybuilding initiatives that strengthen skills, knowledge and resilience across individuals, businesses and service providers. High-level stakeholder engagement and negotiation capability , with experience collaborating across Councillors, senior leadership, internal teams, government agencies, service providers, businesses and community groups; representing Council in internal and external forums; and effectively navigating complex, sensitive or competing issues. Strong communication, planning and organisational skills , including the ability to develop and review recovery and resilience plans, support grantreadiness activities, manage multiple engagement and reporting responsibilities, solve problems in dynamic environments, and work flexibly during periods of activation (including some evenings and weekends).
