The Opportunity: KBR is seeking a motivated and capable Project Support Officer to join our Defence team, supporting Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems (EWIS) Joint & Air SPO. EWIS Joint & Air undertakes the acquisition and through-life support of assigned Joint and Air electromagnetic warfare capabilities used by the Australian Defence Force (ADF). Working under the guidance of senior project and commercial specialists, you will contribute to the effective delivery of Defence capability outcomes. In this role, you will support planning and execution activities across complex Defence programs, assisting with a range of project coordination, procurement, and contract support functions. You will help ensure project activities are conducted in line with Defence policies, legal and regulatory frameworks, and KBR''s internal systems. Your responsibilities will span project administration, risk, compliance, assurance, and governance, supporting both acquisition and through-life capability delivery. Defence experience would be highly regarded. The key responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to: - Provide direct project support to senior leadership, including the Project Executive and Project Manager, across complex Defence programs - Contribute to project reporting, briefs, correspondence, and stakeholder-facing documentation - Coordinate and support project meetings, including preparation, participation, and recording of actions and outcomes - Maintain accurate project records, documentation, and data within Defence systems and file management frameworks - Manage project correspondence, registers, and shared mailboxes to ensure effective information flow - Work collaboratively with Defence, industry partners, and internal stakeholders to support project delivery outcomes As the ideal candidate you will bring: - Proven experience working in a project support or coordination role within a complex project environment - Strong written communication skills, with experience preparing briefs, reports, and formal correspondence - High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Ability to manage competing priorities and support work aligned to project objectives - A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels - An Australian Government security clearance (NV2 or higher), or the ability to obtain one Desirable: - Experience supporting Defence projects or working in a regulated government environment - Knowledge of project management frameworks (e.g. PMBOK, PMMv2) - Project management qualification (e.g. AIPM or equivalent) Due to the nature of Defence work, applicants must be Australian citizens and hold an active NV1 security clearance.
