Play a key role in crafting moments of significance, tradition and impactFull-time, permanent opportunity to shape ceremonial experiencesWork in a beautiful, leafy East Melbourne location just a 5minute stroll from Parliament StationAre you an exceptional organiser with a keen eye for detail?The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne is seeking a highly professional and motivated Events and Protocol Officer to oversee official events and hospitality for the Archbishop and his Office.About the OpportunityReporting to the Chief of Staff, this role supports the Archbishop exclusively, managing and delivering official engagements and events for his Office. It ensures high standards across public and private occasions, with appropriate adherence to ecclesial, civic, cultural, and pastoral protocols.Working closely with his executive leadership and Office Team, the successful candidate will provide end-to-end planning and logistical support for both highprofile public events and more personal engagements, including regular hospitality for meetings, dinners.Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Management: Organise and deliver official events, including public events, civic receptions, and special ceremonies.Protocol & Ceremonial Duties: Provide authoritative advice on Church, civic, and cultural protocols, ensuring correct order of precedence and ceremonial observances.Correspondence & Communications: Draft and issue invitations, acknowledgments, and event-related correspondence.Diary & Scheduling Support: Work with the Chancellor, Chief Advisor, and Archbishop''s Executive Officer to align event schedules with the Archbishop''s priorities.Administration & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of events, attendance, and expenses.What you will bringTertiary qualification in event management, communications, or a related disciplineor bring equivalent hands-on experience to the role.Demonstrated success in planning and delivering high-profile events, ideally within ecclesial, government, or diplomatic settings.Deep understanding of protocol, etiquette, and ceremonial practices, ensuring every detail aligns with tradition and expectation.Outstanding organisational ability with a meticulous eye for detail.Trusted for discretion, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality.An informed awareness and appreciation of Catholic Social Teaching.Why Join Us?This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the life and mission of the Church by ensuring that official events and engagements for the Archbishop of Melbourne are conducted with excellence and integrity.
