About the roleThe Clergy Health, Wellbeing and Support Officer is an exciting new full-time role within our Diocese. The role holder will work collaboratively with the Director of Clergy Life and Ministry within the Diocesan Office Team to ensure a coordinated and proactive response to the changing health and wellbeing needs of our Priests. In order to discharge their duties in this role, a key component for the role holder will be to build confidential and trusting relationships with clergy to assist them to identify and address individual health and wellbeing needs and to engage effectively with them at all stages of life.The Clergy Health, Wellbeing and Support Officer is responsible for:Coordinating access to appropriate health, wellbeing, medical, aged care and specialist services for clergy, including retirement transition supportEngaging clergy in person-centred, confidential conversations to develop practical health and wellbeing strategiesCommunicating sensitive health and wellbeing matters appropriatelyMaintaining accurate and confidential recordsCoordinating event and travel bookingsWhat we''re looking forAn active participant in the Catholic Church or lifestyle aligned with Church values and teachings, with an understanding of the role of clergyDemonstrated pastoral, empathetic and relational approach, grounded in Catholic Social Teaching and the Diocesan Vision and ValuesCommitment to collaboration, servant leadership, confidentiality, and compassionate handling of sensitive mattersRelevant qualifications in healthcare or a related field (desirable, not essential) and minimum five years'' experience in an administrative roleThe Diocese is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people, and adults at risk, and has a zero tolerance for abuse.
