With over 5,500 staff and strong training partnerships, NNSWLHD offers stateoftheart facilities with access to both general and specialist services.Click here for further information on working at NNSWLHD.The OpportunityNNSWLHD is seeking a FRANZCOGaccredited Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to take on the pivotal role of Medical Lead Maternity Clinical Stream.This is a strategic leadership position, accountable for shaping governance, driving quality improvement, and fostering cultural change across maternity and women''s health services districtwide. It is a rare opportunity to influence care models and outcomes at a system level, while retaining the option to balance the role with clinical practice.The Medical Lead will provide districtwide clinical governance and strategic leadership for maternity services, working in partnership with the District Manager of Midwifery Services and reporting directly to the Executive Director of Medical Services and Clinical Governance.Role HighlightsStrategic guiding quality frameworks, policy development, and service redesign rather than daytoday management.Districtwide scope Tweed Valley, Lismore, Grafton and smaller sites across Northern NSW each with unique challenges and opportunities.Datadriven quality improvement turning safety and performance metrics into practical, clinicianled improvements.Change leadership fostering collaboration between medical and midwifery staff and engaging with communities to support sustainable reform.The governance role is permanently funded at 0.5 FTE.
