It ensures the integrity of carbon farming projects by contributing to due diligence, initial audits, and reporting processes in line with Climate Friendly''s governance framework and legislative requirements.By delivering accurate assessments, supporting audits, and maintaining compliance, the position helps safeguard project credibility and operational efficiency. Its adaptive nature strengthens assurance capability and supports Climate Friendly''s mission to accelerate climate action through transparent and robust carbon project management,This role works flexibly across teams within the Assurance Hub to support project integrity and compliance. Responsibilities include:Due DiligenceDelivering technical assessments of prospective carbon projects under IFM, Plantation Forestry, and Environmental Plantings methods.Analysing biophysical and management data to confirm eligibility, integrity, and feasibility.Performing spatial mapping/GIS analysis and reviewing planting designs against biodiversity legislation.Preparing due diligence reports and presenting findings to internal review committees.Coordinating project registration and supporting process improvements, including updating SOPs and templates.Conducting quality assurance checks throughout the due diligence process.Initial AuditsManaging initial audits for new projects, including scheduling auditors and preparing audit packs.Liaising with auditors, internal teams, and clients to meet timelines and compliance requirements.Submitting required documentation to the CER and ensuring accurate record-keeping.Assisting with ACCU crediting applications for timely issuance of credits.ReportingSupporting compliance with reporting obligations under contracts and legislation.Reviewing ACCU issuance reports and performing quality checks on key input data.Responding to CER information requests.About youEssentialBackground in environmental science, ecology or land management, agriculture, forestry, and experience in project auditing and/or reporting, and/or due diligence processes, with relevant professional experienceVery high-level written communication skills and exceptional attention to detail for a range of internal and external stakeholdersStrong verbal communication skillsExperience working in a cross functional roleCreative and independent thinker, capable of both following highly prescriptive guidelines, but also proposing solutions when unforeseen issues ariseDemonstrated experience in a time critical environment, working on multiple priorities in parallel, and coordinating project delivery against timelinesExperience in managing a complex workflow with competing priorities and resourcing demandsExperience working within quality assurance/ quality control processesExperience working with Microsoft suite (particularly Excel), and ideally exposure to mapping systems like QGIS and/or willingness and capacity to quickly upskill in this spaceAbility to confidently work unsupervised and as part of a teamDesirableExperience with carbon market projects, with previous experience specifically related to the Emissions Reduction Fund and Carbon Farming Initiative desirableFamiliarity with abatement modelling, such as the Full Carbon Accounting Model (FullCAM) and/ or Reforestation Modelling Tool (RMT)Climate Friendly encourages people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from different cultural backgrounds and people with disabilities.Why join our team?Our goal is to be seen as an organisation that supports wholeness, lifestyle and wellbeing whilst rewarding individual and collective performance.
