OverviewCouncil is offering a school-based Mechanic Apprenticeship for students interested in starting a career in the automative industry. This opportunity is available to students entering Year 10 or 11 in 2026. The role involves working one day per week for two years with additional days required during school holiday periods.Traineeship Salary and Closing Date:Salary: Traineeship Range of Councils Salary Structure (depending on age) plus superClosing date: 5pm Friday 9 January 2026ResponsibilitiesWork alongside a team of experienced professionals to diagnose, repair and service a variety of heavy and light vehicles and equipment.Receive handson training and work toward achieving a Certificate in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.Qualifications and RequirementsA White Card and Driver''s Licence are essential, or the ability to obtain them.You will not be required to have a licence initially, but must be able to obtain a P1 licence within the first 12 months of employment.Required Experience: InternThis position is classified in the Traineeship Range of Councils Salary Structure with a salary depending on age.
