Financial AccountantWe''re partnering with a growing construction / project-based business to recruit an experienced Financial Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function. This role is ideal for someone who has worked in building, trades or construction environments and understands the importance of job costing, progress claims, subcontractor payments and cashflow management. If you enjoy being hands-on, working closely with operations, and keeping everything accurate and compliant this could be a fantastic opportunity.OverviewReporting directly to the Director, you''ll manage the end-to-end bookkeeping and support the business with project costing, payroll and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Project Accounting: Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a construction business; process accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoices and customer invoicing; complete bank, credit card and loan reconciliations; manage subcontractor payments and support supplier relationships; prepare and process progress claims; maintain accurate job costing and project cost tracking.Payroll & Compliance: End-to-end payroll processing, including STP; manage timesheets, allowances and overtime; process superannuation; prepare and lodge BAS; manage GST compliance, including construction-specific transactions.Reporting & Support: Provide job costing and project reporting to management; support cashflow management and forecasting; liaise with external accountants/auditors; maintain clean, organised and audit-ready financial records.What We''re Looking For (Non-Negotiable)23+ years bookkeeping experience, ideally within construction/building/tradesStrong understanding of job costing and project-based accountingExperience using Xero (or similar cloud-based accounting software)Confident with GST and BASPayroll experience including STP and superHigh attention to detail and accuracyDesirable ExperienceExperience with construction software such as DatabuildExposure to progress billing and retention accountingCert IV / Diploma in Bookkeeping or AccountingExperience working closely with project managers / site teams #J-18808-Ljbffr
