Work in a dynamic and progressive jurisdiction assisting in listings and managing cases heard on the weekend and public holidays.VPS Grade 3 (plus appropriate shift allowances and entitlements, as per the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2024).About UsCourt Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasijudicial and administrative functions of Victoria''s courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.Collectively, Victoria''s Supreme, County, Magistrates'', Children''s, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ''Courts Group''.Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction''s own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.About the RoleThe Children''s Court Weekend Online Remand Court operates on Saturday/Sunday and public holidays to ensure young people in custody are brought before a magistrate as soon as practicable.The Registrar of the Weekend Online Remand Court works closely with the Registry Manager and will assist in listing and managing cases heard on the weekend and public holidays (appropriate shift allowance and entitlements as per the VPS Enterprise Agreement 2024 will apply).From Monday to Wednesday, the role will assist with the onsite, daytoday operations of the Melbourne Children''s Court.Registrars perform a wide range of administrative tasks. These may include bench clerk duties, client contact telephone and counter enquiries, and backofoffice administrative responsibilities.The Registrar, Weekend Online Remand Court will liaise with the judiciary, senior officers of the courts and build relationships with key stakeholders such as Victoria Police, youth justice and the legal profession.Key accountabilitiesPerforming appropriate legal, administrative and quasijudicial functions relating to the daytoday and ongoing operations of the court, under limited direction from the Registrar of the court.Providing information and authoritative advice on court procedures and practices, including applying legislation relating to the ChCV, to relevant stakeholders including legal practitioners, police and youth justice officers, government agencies, clients and the general public.Liaising with the judicial officers, external organisations, groups and individuals that interface with the court.Operating relevant computer systems, including casemanagement systems such as Courtlink, LEX and other technologies.Assisting in the listing and management of cases in the Weekend Online Remand Court.About YouCertificate IV in Government (Court Services) or equivalent.Demonstrated extensive knowledge of legislation, practices, policies and procedures applicable to Victorian Courts and Tribunals, in particular in relation to the Children''s Court of Victoria.How to applyClick the ''Apply Now'' button, ensuring you include the following in your application:Resume.Other informationCSV is the employer of staff at Courts Group.
