This full-time, continuing position offers the opportunity to shape the future of dietetics education through innovative curriculum design, highquality teaching, and the creation of an enriching learning environment that fosters strong student engagement.Parttime jobshare arrangements will be considered for suitable applicants.We are seeking an experienced academic dietitian who is passionate about teaching, research, and the integration of scholarship with professional practice.In this role, you will provide leadership to dietetic teaching staff, champion collaborative initiatives, and enhance the overall educational experience for students.Strong industry experience and established professional connections are essential, enabling you to support placementbased learning and inspire the next generation of dietetics professionals.Your responsibilities will include:TeachingProvide strategic leadership and drive ongoing curriculum development of the Master of Dietetics program.Design and deliver highquality learning experiences for postgraduate dietetics students, including tutorials, seminars, and placement supervision.Assess student work and coordinate multiple units within the program.Continuously enhance teaching practices through reflective and evidencebased approaches.ResearchBuild and sustain a competitive program of highquality research and/or scholarship of learning and teaching, including seeking external funding as a co or chief investigator.Disseminate research through peerreviewed publications, seminars, and national and international conferences.Supervise postgraduate research students and support their academic development.Develop and maintain research collaborations with external partners, working toward national recognition in your field and managing associated administrative requirements.EngagementEstablish and strengthen collaborations with industry and external stakeholders to enhance teaching, research, and placement opportunities.Contribute to advancing the dietetics profession through active involvement in Dietitians Australia and the Council of Deans of Nutrition & Dietetics Aust/NZ.Foster a positive, inclusive, and collegial workplace culture, contributing to School- and Universitywide activities.Selection Criteria Who we are looking for:Accredited Practicing Dietitian recognised by Dietitians Australia with a doctoral qualification in Dietetics or relevant discipline.Ability to demonstrate, highlevel teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.Experience with applying Dietitians Australia National Competency Standards, Accreditation Standards for Dietetics Education Programs and experience in assessing performance of dietetic students on professional practice program.A strong understanding of pedagogical theory, contemporary educational practices, and a record of scholarship in teaching, including unit/course coordination relevant to the discipline.Evidence of an emerging research or scholarship of learning and teaching outputs.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering a collegial environment and interacting with students and staff with crosscultural sensitivity.Commitment to applying relevant policies and procedures in daily responsibilities.Level C (in addition to the above)Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead curriculum development, mentor less experienced staff, supervise HDR students, lead research initiatives.Research outputs in highquality academic journals, a history of successful competitive grant applications, and evidence of a growing national and/or international profile.DesirableDemonstrated industry experience in dietetics at an advanced practice level.Capacity to contribute to research grants and ability to supervise research projects.Role Requirements:As this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin''s satisfaction.Accredited Practicing Dietitian recognised by Dietitians Australia*Please note that each candidate will be assessed based on their skills, qualifications, and experience to determine the salary level.About Curtin UniversityWe are an energetic, dedicated team of academics and professionals working together to provide global solutions through quality graduates and innovative research.
