Lead Tasmania''s Racing Reform - Protecting a $208 Million IndustryUnique Regulatory Leadership Role 5 Year ContractSet a New Standard for Integrity and Animal WelfareThe Tasmanian Racing Integrity Commissioner (TasRIC) will be an independent statutory office that is expected to be established under the Racing Regulation and Integrity Act 2024 upon the passing of legislation.The TasRIC will oversee the racing industry and the operations of TasRacing to ensure that Tasmanian racing is conducted with regulatory excellence and will set standards relating to integrity and animal welfare in racing.The position operates in a dynamic environment and has a critical role in providing oversight of integrity within the $208 million Tasmanian Racing Industry across all three codes of racing - thoroughbreds, harness and greyhounds.We are seeking a well-regarded regulatory leader or sports integrity specialist who is attracted to a multi-faceted role and the opportunity to make a significant positive impact to the Tasmania racing industry.Bringing expertise in leading within a regulatory framework you will be as comfortable working at strategic levels as well as guiding an operational integrity unit. You consider you have an ability to assess complex integrity matters, conduct robust investigations and make evidence-based decisions. You can engage with other law enforcement agencies to appropriately investigate, share sensitive information and refer matters as appropriate.As a significant public facing role with a diverse range of stakeholders, you are comfortable with media and also have a personality which will foster industry stakeholders to engender a culture of continual improvement in integrity and animal welfare.
