Job DescriptionLocation: North and South BrisbaneHours: Full-time/Part-time or Casual, Multiple Opportunities Available (permanent hourly rate listed)Clinic-based from our offices in Southern Brisbane (Yeerongpilly) and Northern Brisbane (Taigum/Sandgate) in the early intervention role in a multidisciplinary teamFlexible, supportive and inclusive environment within a leading NFP organisationJoin a friendly multidisciplinary team who are passionate about supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and their families to achieve their communication goalsAchievable billable hours with a focus on high quality interventionAbout the roleOur Therapy & Family Services team provide speech language pathology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, and teacher of the deaf services across a number of programs, including NDIS.We are looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to administer speech, language and listening assessments in accordance with Healthy Hearing Monitoring Guidelines in addition to providing speech pathology sessions for NDIS and Medicare clients with a hearing loss.In this role you will be providing support to children and their families from our clinics in Taigum and Sandgate (travel between offices is required). You will have access to mentoring within the Therapy Services team and also a generous professional development budget to upskill your knowledge and experience. In addition to this we support your journey in learning Auslan via formal training and the ability to practice Auslan within a multi-disciplinary team.You will interact with babies, children and their families supporting families'' communication choices, values and embrace Auslan as the language of the Deaf community.ResponsibilitiesAssess children in accordance with assessment schedule and write formal reportsPlan and develop programs to meet the needs of the childImplement therapy programsProvide appropriate, timely and effective clinical managementMaintain up-to-date case notes and progress reportsWork independently and cooperatively within a transdisciplinary modelProviding family inclusive supportAbout youIn your application, let us know if you have these key skills and experience:Bachelor or Master''s Degree in Speech PathologySpeech Pathology Australia Certified Practising MembershipNDIS Worker''s Screening CheckWorking With Children Check/Blue CardAlso let us know if you have these other great skills:Knowledge and skills in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) and principles of Family Centred Practice (FCP)Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated an ability to manage caseloads independentlyEvidence of ongoing education/professional development relevant to the Deaf & Hard of Hearing populationExperience in Auslan highly regardedExperience in telepractice highly regardedAbout UsDeaf Connect is the largest, whole-of-life service provider and social impact organisation for Deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing Australians.
